and delicious sushi that you can easily make at home!
I'll introduce the traditional "nigiri" style and an easy way to make sushi at home.
Master the art of sushi making and enjoy sushi dinners at home or
become the star of your own home parties!

The class is in central Kyoto near Gion and Nishiki Market, only a few minutes from Kyoto Station by train, and makes for a perfect stop in any travel itinerary.
It's conveniently close to Gion and Kiyomizu-dera, making it an ideal spot to stop by during your sightseeing.
The cooking class venue, 'Sumaya,' boasts over 15 years of history in Kyoto and offers a wide range of cuisines, including not only sushi but also traditional Kyoto dishes such as 'obanzai'.
If you're interested, you can also participate in other cooking classes during your stay.
It's a great opportunity to improve your cooking skills while in Japan!

Learn Japanese food culture

We'll prepare sushi using fresh and delicious fish sourced from well-reputedfishmongers or markets known for their quality.You can also learn about the history of sushi and the charm of Japanese food culture, including ingredients like "dashi". Photos and videos are shown on a large screen in the kitchen, and quizzes are included to make learning fun.
Children will also enjoy the quiz, making it a great family experience.We'll also introduce places where you can make purchases, so it's a great idea to bring back souvenirs!

Buy the fish in Nishiki Market

Before cooking, you and your guide will walk around Nishiki Market to buy souvenirs and fish.
When the stores are open, you can watch fish processing at the trusted Kimura Fresh Fish Shop, with which we always do business. We then take the fish back to the kitchen and make sushi with the fresh fish.

In the tour, you can learn history of Nishiki Market and know any shop has long history.
